OBJECTIVES

The College was specifically conceived/established for the following reasons:-

  • Giving back to society a little from the enormous contributions it has made towards making members attain their various achievements in life;
    • Helping to generate employment opportunities in the State;
  • Providing employment to and tapping from the wealth of experience of Members –  most of whom are on retirement- instead of allowing them to waste away – and in the process, enable them earn additional incomes, either as staffers of the proposed college or from the profits expected to accrue to it;
  • To help in bridging the huge educational gap especially,  by providing the necessary skilled teachers to reduce the dearth of teaching staff in the State’s Primary Secondary Schools;
  • To key into the current efforts towards establishing a public/private partnership in the socio-economic development of the country.
  • To add to the aggregate stock of capital assets in the State.

Incorporation

After all the foregoing, the College was formally incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a Limited Liability Company. Approval has been granted. For the purpose of meeting statutory requirements of incorporation, the under listed were registered as the Pioneer Directors of the Company/College:

Organizational Structure

  1. The Board of Directors

This is the Body that represents the Share–holders and is the highest authority in the administration of the College

  • The Governing Council

The Council is currently made up of fourteen (14) members representing various interest/segments of society – religion, gender, geopolitical zones, the Academia. Among them are University Professors, Doctors, Seasoned Administrators, Industrialists, and Engineers.

The Council is in charge of evolving and implementing all policies and programmes of the College

  • The Management

The Management is responsible for the day- to-day administration of the College subject to policy direction of the Council.

Members of the management are:

  2. The Deputy Provost
  3. The Librarian
  4. The Bursar 
  5. The Registrar/Secretary
  6. The Academic Board

This is the Body responsible for managing all Academic Matters of the College from admissions, through teaching/ research, to examination and graduation. Members of the Board are:

  3. The Librarian
  4. Deans of all Schools
  5. All Heads of Academic Departments.
  6. Directors of MIS, Education Resource Centre, Consultancy Services and Academic Planning
  7. The Registrar/ Secretary

CURRENT PROGRAMMES/SCHOOLS

The College presently has Four (4) Schools each headed by a Dean:

  1. School of Education;
  2. School of Science/Vocation Education;
  3. School of Arts and Social Sciences;
  4. School of Continuing Education;

INFRASTRUCTURE/ FACILITIES AVAILABLE

The College has the following infrastructure/facilities to make teaching/learning most convenient:

  1. 25 fully furnished classrooms including 3 large Halls for General Studies and Education Courses;
  2. 6 laboratories – Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Home Economics, Computer, and Mathematics;
  3.  Library – both Physic and E-Library;
  4. 200 seater CBT Centre
  5. 2 College Buses
  6. A Medical Corner
  7. A functional Bore-hole in additions to connection to the Metropolitan water lines;
  8. A Dedicated 200KVA/33KVA Electricity line
  9. A standby Generator
  10. Computerization/ paperless College – in line with the philosophy of a globalized world as a universal village,

 Affiliation

The College offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in Education in affiliation with the University of Ilorin, Ilorin for the latter and Taraba State University, Jalingo for the former.
